The Power of Before & After

The Maids • Jun 01, 2013

From remodeling to makeovers, before and after pictures tend to draw attention. The change from one picture to the next is often striking, and it keeps people talking for a while.

You can harness the power of before and after for any big house cleaning project, too; and you’ll be amazed at how motivated and proud you will be when you see your own before and after pictures!

Cleaning Projects

If you want to get started now, here are some spots in your house you can probably tackle for a before and after picture. You can even take pictures for your maid services to see the difference they make in your home.

Kitchen Cabinets

If your cabinets are looking overcrowded or dirty, they might be the perfect place to take a before and after photo. When you take the dirtiest cabinet to clean and organized, you will be motivated to keep going.

When you clean out the cabinets, empty them, throw away anything that has passed its expiration date, wipe down the surfaces, then put the contents back in categories that make sense to you.

Any Closet

Closets have an uncanny way of munching clothes, toys, and keepsakes until they have overtaken the entire space. If you’re nodding your head, this is where you should start. Make sure you take a picture before you throw anything away so you can appreciate the hard work you’ve done.

Get rid of any clothes you haven’t worn in 6 months and critically access everything you have—if you don’t actually like something, don’t keep it!

Kitchen Sink

Whether its scattered with dishes or just looking a little rough, your sink probably needs a little bit of attention, and before and after is the perfect way to keep you moving smoothly from project to project.

If you can, remove all of the dishes and then wipe down the sink with warm water. Focus especially on any place water tends to pool.

When you look at your pictures, appreciate the difference--it will help you keep going and clean even more!
